The ceremony was led by Ibrahim Traoré, military officer and interim president and the Minister of Defense and Veterans, Brigadier General Célestin Simpore. According to the official statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Burkina Faso, the delivered armored vehicles will be integrated into units of the Rapid Intervention Armored Battalion (BBIR), providing “considerable firepower and high tactical flexibility on the battlefield.” These wheeled vehicles feature a turret equipped with a 105 mm cannon, complemented by a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun for infantry engagements.
