Wike-Makinde : Best friends -worst foes

Just like yesterday when the going was Smooth and sweet like honey among the G5 governors

The group was formed from the fall out  of the PDP  presidential primary toward  the 2023 general election.

The Group of five  aggrieved governors  within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that opposed having both  the party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections and the  party chairmanship office being held by the same northern region. They  formed the caucus known as G5 (five governors)

They are

1. Nyesom Wike (former Governor of Rivers State; now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory).

2. Seyi Makinde (Governor of Oyo State and currently the only sitting governor among them).

3. Samuel Ortom (former Governor of Benue State).

4. Okezie Ikpeazu (former Governor of Abia State).

5. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (former Governor of Enugu State).

However, today the best friends of G5 have become the worst  political foes .The Wike faction today expelled the members of the Makinde faction.

Earlier on Saturday  in Ibadan during the  national convention, Makinde faction had announced the  expelling of   members of Wike faction .

All the G5 are scattered . Samuel Ortom was walked out of the Wadata house  by  Taminu Turaki , the newly elected chairman of Makinde faction.

Wike and Makinde found themselves amidst the rancour .Police had to use teargas to restore peace to the PDP national secretariat
