Structured address and public talk are different from market discussion that has no ethic or formality for delivery .
It also involves audience management and control which is a major point in classroom teaching and public talk .
Let us look into some factors and their influence audience control management :
1. Communication prowess : To communicate has been seen literarily as " to hear" however , it is more than that . When message cannot be decoded for easy understanding ,it is believed that a person is not communicating. Therefore ,a speaker must be fairly fluent ,give understandable code and level relative to his audience. eg speaking in native is the best ,if possible when talking to local illiterates .This give control over the listeners .Grammar blowing often lead to boredom for some people . This use of simple ,correct and understandable expression is enhances understanding

No island of knowledge, reach out to people ,it is better to fail among your colleagues and companies than be disgraced publicly . Develop yourself ,read wide,research before climbing the pulpit.
A speaker that has nothing to give cannot gain the audience respect .Lack of substance breed lack of audience respect. This leads to lack of audience attention and loss of control .
3. Operational ethics ..Where there is no law no offence. Thus discipline may not be enforceable. .Every organised human gathering must be guided with a line of policy or rules of engagement. In a classroom setting,this can be set out as rules that goes with punishment .However in public address ,It should be itemised in a persuasive manner as not to brew tension especially when dealing with aged and calibered in the society .However when the process or agenda of a public talk is well spelt out and shared such as question time,recess time and so on .This brings decorum .

5. Confidence and charisma: This may be easier to develop when teaching in a classroom setting . However ,it is difficult to uphold in public talk especially when dealing with pool of learned the rich and elites .Thus, it is advisable as a guest speaker to research about your expected audience ,the calibre of audience ,their background and experience and so on .This is a vital tool for confidence building for effective public address , audience management and control.
6. Organization:
This has to do with the level of readiness of the tutor .In conventional classroom teaching ,it is called lesson note preparation .This helps in arrangement of topics and subtopics for good delivery. Likewise in public talk, organisation and proper arrangement of materials is key .This is in form of :
( a) Talk rehearsal: A presenter should ruminate over materials needed and content of talk having done research on needs of his expected audience and the topical issues.
( b) Introduction strategy: This is very important as you may get it wrong if your entry point is faulty and uninspiring. Perfect your entry mechanism ; humour, frankness, bitter or sweet talk etc with moderation.

(c) Content presentation: This entails logical and orderly arrangement of subtopics and points during presentation . Gestures , mimicking , interfacing , feedback etc .All these help you to keep the listeners and have good audience control
(d) Conclusion : This is the closing remarks of a speaker. Good sign out makes the audience to look forward to another day from the speaker.
