Lagos and Oyo states  declared  Wednesday public holiday



Governor Babajide Sanwo olu of Lagos and governor Seyi Makinde of  Oyo State have declared Wednesday, August 20, 2025, a public holiday to mark this year’s Isese Day celebration.

According to a circular issued by the Head of Service Lagos State , Huiel  Agoro, the directive applies to all public servants.

Also In Oyo, the  announcement was made in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

The isese  public holiday  is used  for celebration of Yoruba religion  and deities  annually in several South-West states This promotes local  cultures and traditions of the Yoruba belief ,,language,food, dress ,dance and so on .
