Mele kyari account freezed 



The federal high court in Abuja has granted the plea of EFCC to freeze the four accounts of former GMD NNPCL ,Mr Mele Kyari in a particular bank .

According to EFCC investigation, the  bank records revealed that these accounts are controlled and managed by Mr. Kyari through his family members who are acting as fronts. Further investigation showed that payment to the accounts were portrayed as  transfers to non-governmental organisations (NGO).
The investigator stated “ .That the suspect opened various accounts in the Bank which has been used to receive suspicious inflows from NNPC and various oil companies that have dealings with NNPC.


 EFCC arrests ex senior officials of NNPC over alleged $7.2billion 

 Earlier,EFCC  has arrested and detained Mr Isa  along with a former Managing Director of Warri Refinery, Jimoh Olasunkanmi.

Mr Isa, as CFO, was in charge of release of funds for the Turn Around Maintenance of the three refineries ;Port Harcourt,Warri and Kaduna refineries .

Other officials involve in the  probe are Mr Tunde Bakare, Managing Director, Warri Refinery; Mr Ahmed Adamu Dikko, former Managing Director, Port Harcourt Refinery, and Mr Ibrahim Monday Onoja, former Managing Director, Port Harcourt Refinery.

The arrest is connected to alleged embezzlement and  misappropriation of funds by the former NNPC executives, including the immediate past Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mele Kyari, and his predecessor,Mr  Abubakar Yar’Adua.ehile in office .

The funds under investigation include $1.56 billion allocated to the Port Harcourt refinery, $740.6 million for Kaduna, and $656.9 million for Warri, which were released for  rehabilitation scheme.

It was reported that EFCC uncovered about N80 billion in the personal accounts of one of the sacked Managing directors.

Successive administrations have budgeted billions of dollars for  turnaround maintenance of  the facilities in Warri, Kaduna, and Port Harcourt but but no positive result have been achieved, forcing the country to rely heavily on imported petroleum products
