The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has made major adjustments to the departmental subject classifications for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
NEW DEPARTMENTAL CLASSIFICATIONS
1. ART Department now to be known and called HUMANITIES DEPARTMENT
2. COMMERCIAL Department now to be known and called BUSINESS DEPARTMENT
3.SCIENCE Department Retains its name and still to be known and called SCIENCE DEPARTMENT.
SUBJECT SELECTION STRUCTURE
Students must now choose subjects under one of the following three programmes:
1 SCIENCES
2.HUMANITIES (formerly Art)
3.BUSINESS (formerly Commercial/Social Science)
Each student must select 6 elective subjects and 3 compulsory subjects.
