No more 15% petrol import tarrif

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) says the proposed implementation of the 15 per cent of valorem import duty on imported Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Diesel is no longer in view.

The NMDPRA disclosed in a statement posted on its X handle on Thursday signed by the Director, Public Affairs Department, NMDPRA, George Ene-Ita.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu approved the introduction of a 15 per cent ad-valorem import duty on petrol and diesel imports into Nigeria.

The suspension of the policy is ,due to public outcry that the tarrif will worsen the prevailing price surge on price of petrol and other retail products
