 Wike-Lamido Vs PDP

-Conflicting  court injunction stalled National convention
-Interim  /care taker committee proposed

Conflicting court judgements emanating from Ibadan and Abuja have put the PDP national convention into a jeopardy.

Earlier ,FCT minister, Nyesom Wike had gone to court  that the party  convention process must start from the wards . An Abuja Federal high court stopped the convention based on  Wike group prayer .

However ,The Party got a go ahead from an Ibadan high court to proceed  with the mid  November convention

Few days to the convention, former governor of Jigawa ,Sule Lamido
took the party to court for his exclusion from becoming the National chairman of the great party .  On Friday, a federal high court sitting in Abuja made a final order restraining the PDP from conducting November 15th national convention.

Based on the storm in the party ,the BOT led by Chief Adolphus Wabara is  forced  to adopt the  the   report submitted by the six-member committee set up by the BOT  which was submitted to the Board of Trustees leadership on Thursday to resort to care taker committee.

The report was also presented to the PDP governors and other stakeholders at a later meeting on Thursday.

The BoT reconciliation team stated that it had  meeting with all concerned parties in the dispute : PDP governors, FCT minister Nyesom Wike, members of the NWCs

It tated that the battle for control of the party ahead of 2027 had become an issue and had affected the smooth running of the party.

Also, the litigation in courts across the courts  was not properly handled .“Going ahead with the convention  must be subject to favourable legal status and disposition of INEC. It stated

Thus it proposed “an all-inclusive Caretaker Committee (CTC)  “For this to be effected, all the NWC should reverse the status quo ante immediately.”

It further recommended that all suspension orders be lifted and that all parties be brought together for genuine reconciliation.

It also stated that the party constitution must always be upheld, stressing that “party supremacy and discipline are core.”

The committee also advised that the BoT must be accorded its prime position in the party to mediate and guide processes as  the the advisory body.
